With
High Density Storage Systems the outbreak of fire can cause total "Domino
Effect" collapse of the system within a few minutes therefore it is essential to have
early detection.
Linear Heat Detection provides a solution not readily achieved by conventional smoke and heat fire detectors. Linear Heat Detectors may be used to provide fire detection at all levels. LHD cable has been shown to respond in less than one minute to varying fire conditions with the LHDCin a position where it is protected from damage by the structure of the racking itself. |

variety of fixing methods are available for Linear Heat Detection Cable to cover the
various types of racking systems (for details see data sheets on fixings). Linear Heat Detection Cable Systems are available with Zone Monitors that provide operating signals for sprinklers fitted with single shot actuators or deluge systems. The racking area may be divided into "zones" on the following basis:-
Each Zone requires a length of Linear Heat Detection Cable and a Zone Monitor which may be located adjacent to the zone and, as well as the sprinkler actuation signal, provides repeat signals to a control area via a suitable interposing cable. Where the cable traverses other zones it should be of the Short Time Fireproof type. At an area control panel the status of a number of zones may be displayed using either an annunciator matrix or a graphic display. Applicable Data Sheets
